Stories Beyond the News

This project aims to convey the voices of the people living in Gaza. It delivers individual stories to the world—stories that cannot be fully captured by fragmented news footage or short clips on social media. The work is a co-production between ALEF Multimedia, based in Gaza, and UPLINK in Tokyo. ALEF is responsible for on-site reporting, while UPLINK handles editing, distribution, and theatrical release.

    Al-Rasheed Street in September

    Released July 31, 2026 — Theatrical & Online
    Filming Period: September–November 2025
Filming Location: Al-Rasheed Street (Gaza City coastal road)
    October 10, 2025:
    A ceasefire agreement was announced.
What was happening in Gaza at that moment?
On September 9, 2025—roughly one month before the ceasefire—the Israeli military dropped leaflets on residents of northern Gaza City, ordering them to evacuate to Al-Mawasi in the south via Al-Rasheed Street along the coast.
This film focuses on the people displaced along Al-Rasheed Street following that evacuation order. It also captures footage of Gaza City in October and November after the ceasefire was reached. Through the eyes of local Gazans, the film presents a raw and authentic reality of the current situation—revealing scenes that have never been broadcast on the news.
